Founded in 2010, the Clover Market is a seasonal open-air market featuring a rotating lineup of curated vendors with antiques & collectibles, vintage jewelry & clothing, finely crafted handmade items, architectural salvage, and original art. A lineup of gourmet food trucks, free kids' crafts and live music complements the lineup. Space is also provided to select local nonprofit groups, animal rescues, and arts-based organizations and schools to participate as our featured community partners.
Our goal is to provide opportunities for talented independent and local artisans and dealers to connect with customers and with each other in a vibrant and friendly marketplace which is free and open to the public. Important to our mission, we also encourage our customers to "shop the Market and the town" to support the local retailers and restaurants in the downtown districts where we operate. We are proud of, and very grateful for, our passionate and supportive community of vendors and customers.
Our name, logo and tagline ("Lucky Finds for the Home") were all inspired by the notion of a one-of-a-kind find...something special and unique that you might come across at our Market.
We've listed some of our awards and press here or you can get a good feel for what we're all about by clicking on the "PHOTOS" section at the top of the page. Photos are organized by Market date (all credit: Carrie Hill Photography), and we have two pages devoted to some of our favorite people: our vendors and the many kids and dogs of Clover. Finally, here's a little bit about the small but mighty team who makes Clover run.
WHERE AND WHEN ARE THE MARKETS HELD?
The Market operates on Sundays in the spring and fall in downtown Bryn Mawr, Chestnut Hill & Kennett Square PA and in Collingswood NJ (all in the Philadelphia metro area). Please see our Dates page for our schedule and the Locations & Parking Page for directions, maps and parking options in each spot. We typically hold 5-6 Markets each season and an indoor Holiday Market in December.
WHAT ARE THE HOURS?
The Market is open from 10-4 pm. We do not do "early bird" sales to allow our vendors sufficient time to set up and to keep things fair and square for all.
IS THERE AN ADMISSION CHARGE?
Nope! The Market is free to attend and open to all.
WHAT HAPPENS IF THE WEATHER IS BAD?
Starting in 2020, we are planning for the Market to be what we would describe as more of a "sprinkle or shine" event. This means that a cancellation would still happen if conditions are forecast to be severe or dangerous including sustained high winds, lightning, flood or tornado warnings. We would also cancel if more ongoing rain is forecast (the specific details for vendors can be found on the Apply page). This decision was made after many years of experience in all sorts of weather to do what we felt would best meet the needs of our vendors (and their product) and customers going forward.
We will make any weather calls by noon on Saturday before the event at the latest using the best available information from several trusted local weather resources. The actual weather on Market day obviously can not be guaranteed. If the weather looks iffy, please check the website or our social media pages before heading out. Emails will also be sent to our mailing list (you can sign up at the top or bottom of this page).
IS THERE FOOD AT THE MARKET?
Yes, and it's one of our customers' favorite parts of visiting us. We always have a rotating group of gourmet food trucks and tented food vendors. We also encourage our customers to explore the many nearby restaurants in the downtown districts where we operate (see next question). There's truly something for everyone when you visit Clover!
ARE THERE OTHER PLACES TO SHOP NEARBY?
Absolutely, that's why we're located in these lively downtown locations. The local business association websites (Bryn Mawr Business Association, Borough of Collingswood, Chestnut Hill Business District and Historic Kennett Square) provide more info about the shopping and dining options around town.
ARE THERE ATM'S NEARBY?
Yes, there are ATM's at the Bryn Mawr Trust, Santander, and Wells Fargo banks on North Bryn Mawr Ave (directly behind our vendors) in Bryn Mawr. In Chestnut Hill, there is an ATM at the Valley Green Bank at 23 West Highland Avenue (again, right behind the vendors). In Collingswood, there are several ATM's on Haddon Ave, including at the Wawa (668 Haddon Ave) and Bank of America (846 Haddon Ave), each about 1 block away from our vendor location, and we have an ATM onsite as well. In Kennett Square, there are several ATM's on Cypress Street, just a few blocks away, and we will have an ATM onsite.
ARE THERE BATHROOMS ONSITE?
There are always portable toilets onsite or you can stop by any of the nearby restaurants for a bite to eat, a drink, and use of the bathrooms.
ARE THERE THINGS FOR MY KIDS TO DO?
We always have a variety of free hands-on kids' crafts, live music and facepainting to keep the little ones happy. You can also try having your kids do a scavenger hunt (e.g. make a list of 10 items they might find at Clover and think of a small reward) to keep them engaged as you shop.
ARE DOGS ALLOWED?
We LOVE having four legged friends visit us at Clover. Please feel free to bring your friendly/socialized, leashed dogs. The event can sometimes get crowded and overstimulating, with lots of other dogs, so if your dog is nervous or in any way aggressive it would not be the best outing for them. And of course, please exercise caution and good judgment when considering bring your four legged friends if it's a hot day - if it's too hot for you to walk barefoot on pavement than it will be too hot for them as well.
HOW TO I APPLY TO PARTICIPATE AS A VENDOR?
The Market accepts applications from sellers with the following items:
- Antiques and collectibles
- High quality artisan crafts and handmade
- Up-cycled items and architectural salvage
- Vintage clothing & vintage jewelry
- Original art (all media)
If you are interested in participating, head over to the Apply section for additional details and a link to the online application. New applications are reviewed each season, even for prior sellers. Applications are typically posted in mid January for the spring season, and mid May for the fall season (we recommend you sign up for the mailing list below and/or follow our social media pages, also below, to receive calls for vendors).
IS THE MARKET JURIED?
Yes. All applicants submit an online application each season with photos of their work. This allows us to consider each season with a fresh eye, and to allow opportunitites for new vendors to particpate. Vendors are carefully selected based on product quality, uniqueness, product cohesiveness, fit with the aesthetic of the Market (and what we feel will best appeal to our customers) and the overall mix of sellers.
HOW CAN I STAY ON TOP OF YOUR MARKET NEWS?
We encourage you to sign up for our mailing list using the form below to receive our periodic Market emails and reminders and all calls for vendors. You can also follow us on our social media pages (links below) which are used actively for announcements, event invites, and sneak peek photos.
